International Women's Day (IWD) is a global initiative designed to celebrate women's achievements in all aspects of life and society. It's a day singled out each year to raise awareness about women's needs and keep promoting change.
This year, the theme is 'Choose to Challenge'! A challenged world is an alert world. And from challenge comes change.
The Challenge of Better Health
One of the many missions of IWD is "to assist women to be in a position of power to make informed decisions about their health." When it comes to the menstrual cycle and hormone health, knowledge is key to helping more women challenge the "norms" that all too often lead to inadequate wellness.
Menstrual cycle patterns can have a direct influence on physical well-being, including cardiovascular disease, migraine headaches, diabetes, and breast cancer.
How many of us go through life thinking that we can get pregnant any day of our cycle, that bleeds experienced while taking the pill are real periods, or that the menstrual cycle is only important if you want to have a baby? Worse still is the view that heavy periods, crippling cramps, and cyclic depression are normal, just part of the package of being a woman.
On this IWD (March 8th 2021), take the time to think twice and challenge the idea that just because a belief about the menstrual cycle is common doesn't mean it's correct. We challenge you to start tracking your cycle and join the millions of women who have become empowered-understanding their bodies in ways they never thought possible!
Knowledge Is Power
Fertility Awareness is the practice of daily tracking sleeping temperature results in conjunction with other fertility symptoms. Start connecting the dots and learn how your cycle is an insight into your inner being and whole-body health. You can see for yourself if, and when you are ovulating, narrow down your fertile window (with enough accuracy to avoid pregnancy naturally), and even understand better if your hormone levels are adequate to promote total wellness.
With this new inner knowledge, you can put yourself in the driver's seat and break free from the misconceptions that have kept so many women without freedom of choice when it comes to their fertility.
Don't wait any longer, use IWD 2021 to choose to challenge and start cycle tracking today!
