As you approach your third trimester, it’s a good time to start thinking about life after your baby arrives. Here are a few important things to explore, and start preparing for, in the coming weeks:
- Breastfeeding and Fertility: Did you know that breastfeeding can naturally delay the return of your fertility? This is called lactational amenorrhea, but it’s not a foolproof contraceptive method. We recommend researching how breastfeeding can impact your cycle and fertility, and be aware of when ovulation might return.
- Postpartum Family Planning: Whether or not you're planning for another baby soon, it’s important to consider your postpartum family plan. Take some time to explore the options available—for example, would fertility awareness be a good fit for you, using your Tempdrop as your handy tool to support you in identifying your return of fertility?

This is also a great time to schedule some maternity photos (even if it’s just friends or family doing the photography for you)! Many women like to take maternity photos around 26-34 weeks. Things to consider with photos include who you want in the photos or if you want a special outfit, etc.
You may start experiencing back pain and/or heartburn around this time. For your back pain aim to stretch your back regularly, and consider using a pregnancy pillow at night.
