Pregnancy - Week 37

By Tempdrop team

Your baby is the size of a spaghetti squash at 37 weeks.

Your baby’s grasping reflex is well developed, and they will start holding anything they can get their hands on - at this point, mostly their hands, feet, and umbilical cord. Your baby’s vocal cords are also developed, so they are ready to start making some noise once they are born.

Most babies have moved themselves head-down by 37 weeks, although it takes some babies longer still. If your baby hasn’t moved head-down, your provider may offer a way to help turn your baby. The most common suggestion is called an external cephalic version (ECV), or a chiropractor could perform the Webster technique, which involves opening the pelvis up to allow the baby to move themselves into position.
